Stroke and Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA):

Stroke occurs if nerve cells in the brain are damaged when the blood supply is interrupted because of a blocked blood vessel or haemorrhage. Ischaemic stroke is when the artery is blocked (e.g. blood clot). Haemorrhagic stroke is when there is a bleed in the brain from a damaged blood vessel.  Symptoms of stroke can vary depending on which part of the brain is affected.
